4 out of 5 stars A good diaper that doesn't leak or cause redness   September 8, 2010
ks227
Like many new parents, our baby was diapered with Pampers Swaddlers Newborn 240 Diapers in the hospital. When we brought her home last month we decided to continue using Swaddlers and purchased a small package of both Swaddlers Sensitive and regular Swaddlers. We used the Swaddlers Sensitive first and found that the diapers fit her well and were quite absorbent. We also liked the wetness indicator.

Unfortunately when we tried regular Swaddlers we were disappointed at the lack of a wetness indicator. Within hours of starting to use the regular Swaddlers, her diaper area was suddenly a disconcerting shade of bright red - and we were changing her often. We stopped using the regular Swaddlers and gave the rest of that package away to a friend whose child did not have that kind of reaction. The redness cleared up quickly when we switched to Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers, Newborn, 84-Count.

We will continue using both Swaddlers Sensitive and Huggies Little Snugglers for now. I suspect as she becomes more mobile we will switch to the Huggies diapers due to the elasticized back waist and trimmer fit in the crotch - which I really prefer. Also the Swaddlers Sensitive diapers have Dry Max in larger sizes, and we will not use a diaper with Dry Max after seeing the skin reaction she had in just a few hours with the regular Swaddlers.

Pros: No diaper blowouts, wetness indicator (unlike regular Swaddlers), light/pleasant odor, relatively neutral colors that don't show through light colored clothing, does not irritate our baby's skin

Cons: Bulky fit between legs, umbilical cord notch was next to useless, no elasticized back waist like Huggies Little Snugglers

5 out of 5 stars Pampers Sensitive are peferct for my premie   September 8, 2010

I love these diapers. We have had no instances of diaper rash or any other bottoms problems with my baby since we have been using them (at 3 weeks). If put on properly, no leaking either and she is now 31/2 months old.

2 out of 5 stars Hey Pampers, where's the mesh?   September 7, 2010
Mitten (United States)
We began using Pampers Swaddlers when our 5 month old was born in April 2010, the variety we bought at that time said "dry max" on the box but the diapers all had a mesh lining, absorbent core and worked great. We loved the mesh lining as all the messes were wicked into the mesh and off of the baby's skin and we planned to continue using these diapers for the foreseeable future. When we purchased our second box of size 1 diapers the absorbent liner only went half way through the diaper, it was missing from the back half, but they still seemed ok. Size 2's were the same, still with the mesh liner and they were working--no leaks, baby slept well without a soaking diaper. Reading reviews here led us to try Swaddlers Sensitive as they supposedly still had the mesh and the full absorbent liner. They were expensive but seemed worth it to avoid complete clothing changes with every poop. We were happy with the size 2's and all was going well UNTIL we bought size 3. These said "New Dry Max" on the box and they were extremely disappointing; NO mesh liner, the absorbent core only goes 1/2 way through the diaper--messes started shooting out the back on at least 1/2 of the poops...AND they cost over 30 cents each! This is unacceptable for a diaper that costs nearly twice the price of others on the market and does nothing special. Additionally there is a very strong, very unpleasant urine smell with the new diapers when the baby is barely wet. Pampers would have had us as a customer for the next 2 years or so....but now, like many other disappointed parents, we are shopping for new diapers. Pampers, bring back the mesh liner!

ETA--I am guessing that we were simply fortunate to have been using old Pampers stock for the first few months of our baby's life, nice while it lasted.

We used these till our baby was 10 lbs and had no problems. We never had a leak and they fit pretty well.

5 out of 5 stars Great product...very cheap with Amazon Subscription.   September 6, 2010

Writing a review for diapers is a bit weird but if it helps someone why not... We like the pampers swaddlers sensitive. The wet indicator is very helpful and our baby looks more comfy in this one compared to the Huggies equivalent. I would recommend using the Amazon subscription service as you can get the diapers for a lot cheaper.
