Really delivers on range & speed September 6, 2010 Robert Reilly (Golden, CO, US) A few bumps along the way in setting up, but once I had it up and running the E3000 has been outstanding. The connection to my wife's PC at the other end of the house is excellent (signal strength 100% and speed of 144 mbps -- about 5 times faster than before). My laptop now connects at 300+. Be sure to install a Wireless-N adapter if your computer doesn't already have one, so you can take advantage of the increased speed of the router.
Decent router September 5, 2010 James May (Simi Valley, CA) I bought this router to get wireless-N to work with a security camera. I had some problems with set-up as their CD program would not work with my laptop. I called tech service and with no problem was able to set it up manually.
The signal strength as measured on my laptop is no better and actually a little worse than my old G router. It could be because of antenna location but I don't know. My router is on the second story in my house and most of my use is downstairs on the first story.
I do like having both 2.4 gig that works with my G only laptops and the 5.0 that will work with my wireless N laptop. I have set up my Vizio TV on 5.0 with no problem (though I am yet to try streaming video).
Easy Setup and Lightning Fast Speeds September 5, 2010 Ucrazy51 I replaced a wired Linksys router which was working perfectly with 4 computers attached to the router. I added a wireless computer and a wireless BluRay player so I wanted and needed a wireless router. After researching and past performance with Cisco/Linksys I decided on the E3000 Linksys router. Setup was easier than the instructions and virtually automatic. About all I had to do we reconnect my wired computers and assign a router and security password for the network. Everything was up and working within 15 minutes out of the box.
Speeds are great and streaming thru the Bluray player with Netflix, Youtube, etc. is really great. I also have a lot of stuff on my network which is easily shared thru the Bluray player with it's Network feature. You can share photos, movies, etc. There's an USB slot on the router which you can also use to share info on your network.
All in all a great product with no loss of speed for downloading or streaming. Range is also quite good. I would recommend this very impressive product.
E3000 does the job September 3, 2010 the webmaster (Lakeland, FL) The sign of a good wireless router is how invisible it becomes after setup. It's been about 3 weeks since I setup this router to replace a D-LINK DIR655. Setup was easy and I've had no problems. Range is better than the D-LINK. I now get "HD" NetFlix quality more frequently (using wireless connection on Blu-Ray player). I wish that the LG BD390 operated at 5Ghz range, but that's another story. The only knock I have against the E3000 is that if you use the CD based setup application, the admin password and the access passphrase have to be identical. That's just not good security. Anyway, the browser based setup screens are not that difficult to navigate. I am not unhappy with the purchase.
E3000 solid so far August 31, 2010 Amazon Buyer (Florida) I bought an E3000 to replace a WRVS4400n. The older unit was not working that well with multimedia streaming, etc. and I think Cisco/Linksys has stopped updating the firmware. Anyway, the E3000 has been very solid since I installed it. I have not had to touch it really. It just works and is designed to handle today's entertainment streaming needs. I just wish Cisco/Linksys would come out with a SINGLE, consistent menu system for all its routers and disable the items/pages that don't apply to a particular model with a note such as "N/A for this model". I don't know why they have to have a hundred different menu trees for a hundred different models. Crazy. I would have given the E3000 5 stars across the board, but I think some of the web access filter pages and port forwarding pages don't offer enough configuration lines to work with. All in all though, a VERY GOOD purchase thus far...
